Lambda Archives of San Diego is a non-profit 501 (c)(3) corporation and all monetary donations are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. Donations of collections may also qualify as a tax deduction. Consult your tax advisor. Due to the potential for conflict of interest, the Internal Revenue Service requires that donations be independently appraised.

Memberships and Donations  - Contributions of any amount are welcome at any time. Annual membership in Lambda Archives is open to anyone interested in preserving gay and lesbian history. Mailings are discreet and we do not give out our mailing list. Sustaining memberships are available to those who would like to make a contribution beyond the general membership category.

Bookplate Fund - Although most of our collections are obtained through donations, many books need to be purchased before they go out of print. The bookplate fund allows us to acquire recently published books to keep our research library up to date. For donations of $20 each, we will inscribe a bookplate as you indicate on the membership application. This could serve to recognize your own contribution or to honor or memorialize a friend.

Endowment  - Thanks to the generosity of two major donors and many dozens of other community members, the Lambda Archives established an endowment fund in 1994 through the San Diego Community Foundation. As the endowment grows, it will help provide financial security for future endeavors. Contributions in the form of cash donations or bequests can be made to Lambda Archives or directly to the San Diego Community Foundation in our name.
