San Diego's
Beautiful Balboa Park Beckons Both Beginners & Veterans Alike
by Lillian Harris
The San Diego Stereo Camera
Club was organized in 1952, making the Club over a half century old.
Under the umbrella of the Southern California Association of Camera Club,
meetings are held the fourth Wednesday of the month in the Photo Arts
Building in beautiful Balboa Park, home of the world famous San Diego Zoo.
Programs vary and may include workshops on stereo slide mounting,
Viewmaster slides, PSA sponsored programs such as the yearly Traveling and
Sequence Exhibitions and Club members' travels. Club competitions
are held three times a year to determine the
"Stereographer of the Year Award." Field trips are scheduled on
occasion. One of our members designs his own anaglyphs.
Attendees are invited each
month to bring their own slides to project during our "open projections
time" to afford those members without projection equipment to see their
work on the big screen. Our meetings are held January through
October. Our yearly banquet is held in November.
Out-of-towners visiting San Diego either on vacation or for a convention
are welcome to join us.
