Note:
Mary
Magdalene Apostle Catholic Community (MMACC) is,
to the best of our ability, democratic and
transparent to its members. To that end our
structure consists of a Corporate Board (to
comply with the 501 (c) 3 requirements of the IRS)
which handles finances and public relations, a
Community Council which oversees most of the
ministries in the community, establishes policy,
generates the community calendar of events and sees
to many of the other details that need attention,
and the Pastoral Team which ministers to the
community spiritually.
The Board consists of 7 members – one
designated by the Community Council from among its
number.
Given the nature of legal, financial, and personnel
oversight entrusted to the Board, potential
candidates are asked to consider their personal
gifts and qualifications. In addition to a strong
commitment to MMACC’s mission, vision, and
sustainability as a community, suggested
capabilities should include at least one or more of
the following:
Previous experience on a nonprofit or corporate
Board; Legal knowledge; Corporate or non-profit
experience as a director or employee in a leadership
position; Expertise in finance or the ability to
understand accounts and budgets; Inter-personal
skills to work collaboratively; Ability to think big
picture; Willingness to make difficult decisions. |
